This is a sideblog to mcmorare, my main blog for my marvel oc. All follows will come from there.

I don’t have many hard-set rules, other than please be respectful and mindful! No racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, etc. will be tolerated on this blog. And to add on to that, the mun is pansexual, queer and neurodivergent and I am open about who I am. If that bothers you, please don’t interact.
Also, due to my anxiety and neurodivergency, I'm often very very shy about talking ooc, but I'm still open to it! My dms are open and my discord is available for mutuals if you'd ever like to plot or just chat! I can be a bit awkward at first, but I promise I'm not uninterested!

Also, mun is highly critical of the US military, and this will be a recurring topic. Tally signed up with good intentions, but she is coming to realize that it is not the organization she thought it was.

I don’t worry too much about formatting, aesthetics or gifs or anything, it’s fine if you use them or don’t! I tend to write in the standard sized text with static 100x100 icons, and I'll bold or italicize words for emphasis if I feel like it, but I don't really do anything fancy.

I am willing to develop relationships, whether it’s romantic, platonic, familial, whatever! Though if it’s a pre-existing relationship I would like to explore a little bit about how they got to know each other, even if just through casually talking in dms! (And, if Tally doesn't get along with your muse, that's 100% ok! I'm definitely open to writing dynamics between enemies or rivals, and just because our muses don't get along doesn't mean we won't!)
This blog will be multiship, so any ships developed with Tally will happen in their own verse unless stated otherwise! Also, the mun does not ship Talder(Tally/Alder) romantically and while I do find their relationship very interesting, I am not interested in pursuing it as a romantic or sexual ship.

As far as a schedule goes, I’ll likely be most active in the afternoon-night (CST), and more active on weekends than weekdays (as well as more active during summer & winter breaks). There may be some times when I’m not as active due to my academic responsibilities, but I’ll try to get back as soon as I can!
And, I tend to be busy on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but I'm usually back by night!

Be it enacted by this general assembly that any child born of a witch shall be held a witch, according to the condition of the mother, and shall deliver herself bodily to Fort Salem for training in the military arts. - The Salem Accords, 1692Born to May Craven, Tally lived the entirety of her infancy, childhood, and teenage years on a matrifocal compound outside of Sacramento, California. Growing up within its self-sufficient, somewhat pastoral community, hidden away in the countryside, surrounded only by witch women - in fact, the only man she ever saw in person before she left to join the army was her mother’s lawyer - her childhood was definitely far from what most would consider normal. But Tally never knew any different; the tight-knit community was her home.
But even with the peace and beauty of the land and the kinship of the others, it was hard for her not to want more. Her mother warned her against leaving, telling her that the outside world was dangerous. And to be fair, she had good reason to think that way, when all her sisters died in war. When many civilians were still wary of witches, even after the Salem Accord had been around for 300 years. But staying at the compound her whole life? Doing the same chores, seeing the same people, never leaving that one plot of land? No matter how much she tried to warm up to the idea, that wasn’t what she wanted.
And that wasn’t her only reason for leaving. During her lifetime, the attacks from the Spree that she had seen on the news had only gotten worse and worse. Watching so many people die, and suffer, and knowing that it was her legal duty, her birthright, to try and defend those people? Just sitting idly by wasn’t an option. Tally wanted to help people. To make a difference, no matter how small. Even if it would be scary, and hard, and painful.
By the time she was 18, her mother had spoken to a lawyer and gotten their family’s dispensation from the Army extended to Tally. But to her, it didn’t matter. She couldn’t stay here. She had to do something. And so, despite her mother’s frustration and worry, despite her anxiety, she answered the call.
What she didn’t know was that the idea of the Army she’d had was not the truth of the organization.
.ABILITIES
+ WITCH PHYSIOLOGY: Having been born as a witch, Tally has an extra set of vocal chords in her throat and five mallea in her ears (civilians have only one malleus bone). These enable her to perform "Work" which can create many different kinds of change to the world around her by generating different seed sounds (notes). Witches also each have a hereditary witch's mark somewhere on their body, passed down through generations - Tally's is behind her right ear.
+ EXPERT COMBATANT: In her time at Fort Salem, Tally has been trained and become proficient in combat, even having been shown to be able to defeat multiple people when unable to vocalize.
+ SIGIL MANIPULATION: Tally has been shown to have some knowledge of sigils. In the first episode, she mutes sound coming from outside by drawing a sigil with her finger on the doorknob of her room.
+ WINDSHEAR: A quickly conjured, impact-absorbing shield - the first "song" taught to the cadets at Fort Salem.
+ WINDSTRIKE: A quickly conjured, focused blast of wind that can be strong enough to pierce metal.
+ SCRYING: Through scrying, a witch can remotely see things and places outside their field of vision. Tally is unusually gifted in scrying - as seen when, during their initial training exercise, she is able to correctly name the color of every hidden flag even without the use of other materials, and when later on, she is able to see through a kind of magic censor that was placed on an image in order to erase a person in the photo. Because of her talent for scrying, Tally is a kind of witch called a "Knower."
- CLAIRVOYANCE: By scrying, Tally is able to see objects that are hidden and detect the presence of others, even when they may be under some sort of invisibility.
- SYNTHESESIA: Tally's abilities have grown to a level where she can visually perceive workings and their sources, seeing the magic as colorful streams of light in the air.
-EMPATHY: Tally's scrying can also allow her to feel the emotions of others.
-PRECOGNITION & RETROCOGNITION: Because of Tally's incredible talent for scrying, she has a special Sight which allows her to see events in the future and past, even in other parts of the world.
+ MOTHERTONGUE: Through her training, Tally has acquired some level of understanding of Méníshè, the ancient "Mothertongue" of witches.EQUIPMENT
+ COMBAT CHARM: A charm given to Tally by her mother that is designed to keep the wearer safe in battle.
+ SCOURGE: A kind of specialized whip used by witches in battle when they aren't using their vocal powers.
+ SALVA: A kind of plant-based, government-sanctioned drug that allows the user to levitate. In the military, it is used for combat drops via tiny star-shaped stickers that allow the wearer to absorb the salva through skin contact.

  • MYTHS ARE SIMPLY STORIES OF TRUTHS WE'VE FORGOTTEN: Percy Jackson verse/Riordianverse. Tally grew up in a small community of sorceresses in Northern California. But as she reached adulthood, her wanderlust and ambition led her to travel across the country to New York, where she discovered that the witches at home weren't the only ones who knew about the gods.

  • I WANNA GET AWAY FROM HERE: Modern day/fandomless verse. Tally grew up in North California on the matrifocal compound, but always wanted to get out. And so, at the age of 18 she leaves, heading to the East Coast in search of independence and adventure.
